Create ride / Add ride
This option allows you to plan and organise your bike ride using various functionalities. In the main screen, click the black ‘Add ride +’ button at the bottom right.
The following screen will open. If you are a member of several groups/clubs, first select the appropriate group or club. Then select the type of ride and click ‘next’ at the bottom of the screen.
GPX
If there is a GPX file and you want to add it to the ride, click on the ‘+’. Select the GPX file from your files and it will be linked to the ride. You can choose to import the title of the GPX file and the distance automatically. Adding a GPX file is not a requirement to post a ride, the distance can then be entered manually. The GPX file can always be added to the ride later.
Set date & time
Via the ‘calendar icon’, you can change the date via the screen that opens. Via the ‘clock icon’, you can change the ride start time. Via the ‘edit description’ button, any additional information can be added. The distance is linked to the GPX file if desired. Under ‘average speed’ you can enter the speed that will be cycled during the ride prior to the ride, the Cyql app automatically calculates the total duration of the ride based on distance and average speed.
Location
Next, you can add the start location. You can choose to select the default start location or add a new start location. Tip: In the dashboard, you can set standard locations, e.g. locations you use frequently.
Stopover
Enable the ‘Stop underway’ function to indicate that you stop along the way for a cup of coffee, for example.
Ride Leader
In the dashboard, the role ride leader can be assigned to users by administrators. These ride leaders can then be linked to the ride. This makes it clear in advance who is the ride leader during the ride.
Public ride
The ‘public ride’ feature allows you to publish the ride publicly, so that non-club members can see the ride and then sign up to participate in the ride. This allows other Cyql users to participate in a club ride. If you check ‘publish as club ride’, the ride will be posted in the name of the club instead of the initiator himself. Finally, you can sign yourself up for the ride directly.
